Matthew Saunders of Sandy Hook received Dean’s List honors for the spring semester from Providence College in Providence, R.I.

Christopher C. Giacolone received Faculty Honors for the spring semester from Trinity College in Hartford.

Chris LaRocque, a 2003 graduate of Newtown High School, has been selected as the executive editor of The Cherry Tree, the yearbook for George Washington University, for the upcoming fall semester. Chris’ responsibilities will include supervising a staff of approximately 65 students to complete publication of the 2004-05 yearbook.

Daniel Arsenault of Sandy Hook earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from St Bonaventure University during commencement ceremonies on May 16.

Kali Alise Santarpia, daughter of Anita R. Holtz and stepdaughter of David C. Dickerson of Sandy Hook, earned Dean’s List honors for the spring semester at Towson University in Towson, Md. A recipient of the Towson University Provost Scholarship recognizing an undergraduate with outstanding academic and civic potential, Kali is also the beneficiary of a Volunteer of the Year award from Ashlar of Newtown, as well as three Newtown Scholarship Association awards. Majoring in gerontology, Kali is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She is also a member of the Towson University chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha. A 2002 graduate of Newtown High School, Kali was captain of both the varsity cheerleaders and varsity girls’ tennis team.
