Danbury's Civil War Infantry Company
Danburyâs Civil War Infantry Company
DANBURY â Danbury Museum & Historical Society will host Bob Young and Dale Call at the Charles Ives Birthplace Museum on Wednesday, August 22, from 7 to 9 pm. The men will present a program about the 17th Connecticut Infantry Company, which was composed primarily of Danbury men.
The program will showcase the life of the average Danbury soldier during the Civil War. Mr Young and Mr Call will regale the audience with stories of what life was like, from battles to leisure time, for these mostly young men far from the place they called home.
There is a $5 fee for the program, payable at the door, and reservations are required. Space is limited so those interested are urged to call the Danbury Museum at 743-5200 and reserve seating for the event.
There is some on-site parking at the museum, which is at 5 Mountainville Avenue. Additional parking can be found at nearby Rogers Park Middle School.
