‘Collecting 101’ Returning For Third Term At Aldrich

RIDGEFIELD — For those interested in gaining insight into the exciting process of buying and collecting art, or who want to become more informed collectors, the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art will present the third year of “Collecting 101.”

Participants will enjoy visits to artists’ studios, private collections, commercial galleries, auction houses and other related foundations and institutions. In addition, sessions will include rigorous discussion with established arts professionals and an examination of current exhibitions within the larger context of the current art scene.

Reservations are $350 per person, which includes a one-year individual museum membership. All coach travel, three luncheons and lectures are also included. “Collecting 101” is limited to 22 participants.

Course dates are Saturdays, October 20, November 10, January 12, February 9, March 9, and March 23. Call 203-438-4519 to reserve your place. Reservations are non-refundable after August 31.

The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art is on Route 35. Museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 5 pm.
