Cannon Grange Fair Returning
On August 26
WILTON â Cannon Grange 152 will hold its 27th Annual Agricultural Fair on the Grange Hall grounds on Sunday, August 26, from 10 am to 4 pm rain or shine. Cannon Grange is located at 25 Cannon Road in Wilton, just off Route 7.
Admission to the fair is $2, and free for children ages 12 years and under. Free parking will be available at nearby Allenâs Meadows and Cannondale Railroad Station.
Highlights of the fair will include judged exhibits and competitions in baked goods, homegrown fruits and vegetables, flowers, crafts and collections, photography, sewing and needlework, poultry, fowl, eggs, and rabbits. Most departments offer categories for children to enter and win ribbons. Junior baking contests, a quilt contest, and a two-crust apple pie contest will be offered, all co-sponsored by Connecticut Association of Fairs.
There will also be a tag sale, baked goods sale, cannon grange souvenirs, and a grocery basket raffle. Civic and educational exhibits will be displayed on the grounds. A local antique tractor club will display several models. Also, there will be an exciting watermelon eating contest and a oxen show.
Local talent will provide music and entertainment throughout the day.
