Town Players performs at The Little Theatre, 18 Orchard Hill Road.

In Play On!, a local community theater is desperately trying to put on an original play in spite of the maddening interference from the haughty author who keeps rewriting the script.
Act 1 is a rehearsal of the dreadful show, Act 2 is the disastrous dress rehearsal, and the final act is opening night where anything that can go wrong does. From wrong lines and missed cues to unexpected sound effects, it all happens.
The cast of the Town Players production is: Laurel Lettieri as Geraldin “Gerry” Dunbar, Dean Alexander as Henry Benish, or “Lord Dudley” in the play-within-a-play; Alexa Wild as Polly Benish/“Lady Margaret,” Emily Roberson as Marla “Smitty” Smith/“Doris the maid,” Aaron Kaplan as Saul Watson/“Dr Rex Forbes,” Cooper Smithers as Billy Carewe/“Stephen Sellers,” Lindsay Clouse as Violet Embry/“Diana Lassiter,” Lauren Todd as Louise Parry, Luisa Olah as Phyllis Montgue, and Liesbet Thiel as Aggie Manville
Special Sunday Reception
Friends Of Newtown Seniors (FONS) is inviting the public to join them for a pre-show reception ahead of one of the Play On! matinees.
The local group will have appetizers and snacks ready for ticket-holders ahead of the Sunday, August 21 matinee. Curtain will be the regular 2 pm, with FONS and guests invited to gather as early as 1 o’clock for the social time.
Tickets are still $20 and can be reserved through the theater’s website or, for this performance, by contacting Barbara Bloom at 203-648-6905.
If more than 20 people reserve for the FONS event, ticket prices will decrease to $15 each.
