Magnificent 'Maleficent' News: Free Shows All Weekend
Ingersoll Auto of Danbury will cover the costs of tickets for this weekend’s screenings of Maleficent at Edmond Town Hall. The feature will be offered in the theater at 45 Main Street August 8-14.
The auto dealership, owned by Todd Ingersoll of Newtown, has been sponsoring free Saturday Movie Nights at least once a month since early last year. There have also been occasional specials with additional screenings, which was the case in celebration of recent ETH Theatre upgrades.in April when moviegoers enjoyed screenings of Gravity and Frozen
This weekend, however, the dealership is inviting residents of all ages to enjoy a show on Saturday or Sunday, August 9-10. Screenings are planned each day at 1, 4, 7 and 9 pm.
“Tickets to all Saturday shows are free of charge while supplies last, courtesy of our wickedly good friends at Ingersoll Auto of Danbury,” the Edmond Town Hall Board of Managers announced on Monday, August 4.
In the film, which stars Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning and Sharlto Copley, a vengeful fairy places a curse on the daughter of the kind who betrayed her and inadvertently sets in motion events that will seal her own fate. The film was released by Walt Disney Pictures in May. It is rated PG for sequences of fantasy action and violence, including frightening images. It has a running time of one hour, 40 minutes.
Maleficent will actually open at ETH Theatre, 45 Main Street, on Friday, August 8, and will continue until Thursday, August 15. In addition to the aforementioned weekend shows, screenings are also planned for Friday, and Monday through Wednesday at 1, 4, 7 and 9 pm; and Thursday at 4, 7 and 9 pm. Tickets for all shows are regularly $2.
