Patrick Harrigan & Erin Beckman

Kristine and William Beckman of Newtown announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Michelle Beckman, to Eamon Patrick Harrigan, son of Julie Harrigan of East Lyme and Dr Edmund Harrigan of Waterford.

The future bride graduated from Newtown High School. She also graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor of science degree in communication sciences and disorders. She is a fourth year graduate student at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., working toward her doctorate in audiology.

She is currently doing her externship at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., and will be graduating in May 2012.

The future bridegroom graduated from Xavier High School in Middletown. He also graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor of science in finance and business. He is currently employed at Sum Total Systems in Gainesville.

A September 2011 wedding is planned.
