Newquist Wins KAA Award

KENT — Kent Art Association is pleased to announced that Newtown resident Ruth Newquist, NWS, won the Kent Art Association Award for her painting “Picking the Bear,” which was recently entered into KAA’s President’s Show. The award, as well as a number of honors for additional artists, was announced during the exhibition’s awards reception on July 30.

On display at the President’s Show are more than 100 in oil, watercolor, pastel and graphics, as well as sculpture in various mediums. All of these works are original and for sale. Many prize-winning artists both locally and regionally are represented in the show which closes Labor Day, September 5.
