Head-On Crash
Police report that two vehicles collided head-on near 103 South Main Street about 5:11 pm on July 27.
The accident involved a 2001 Honda Civic coupe driven by Paulina Krynska, 18, of Monroe, which was also carrying passenger Nichole Dias, 19, of Monroe, and a 2005 Nissan Murano SUV driven by Thomas Nejame, 55, of Danbury, police said.
The three people involved in the accident were transported to the hospital by ambulance volunteers for treatment of injuries.
Hook & Ladder and Botsford firefighters responded to the accident. The incident closed down a section of South Main Street to traffic during the evening rush.
The accident remains under investigation, police said. (Photos of this accident were published in the July 29 edition).
Elm Drive
Police report that they detected motorist Nicholas Caviliere, 23, of 90 Hattertown Road driving a 2002 Chevrolet Prizm at 42 miles per hour southward on Elm Drive in a 25-mph zone near Dickinson Park about 10:22 am on August 2, so they stopped him to investigate.
Police said they charged Caviliere with traveling unreasonably fast and with driving with a suspended vehicle registration. Caviliere was released on a written promise to appear in court on August 16.
Warrant
After learning that they held a warrant for his arrest, John Ehnot, 47, of 56 Pond Brook Road turned himself over to police at the police station about 11 am on August 2, and was charged with failure to respond to an infraction stemming from a January 7 incident in which he received a violation for failure to obtain a rabies vaccination for a dog or cat, police said.
Police released Ehnot on $136 bail for an August 10 court appearance.
Sixteen Charges
On August 2 at Danbury Superior Court, police served an arrest warrant against Charles C. Fonck III, 33, of Stratford, charging him with 16 crimes stemming from incidents in 2009.
Police arrested Fonck on two counts of illegal use of a credit card, four counts of sixth-degree larceny, six counts of third-degree forgery, and four counts of fifth-degree larceny.
Fonck was arraigned on those charges in court that day. He did not enter pleas to the charges. He is scheduled to return to court on August 15.
Fonck is serving a four-year sentence at Cheshire Correctional Institution for a burglary conviction.

Sandy Hook Accident
About 2:14 pm on August 1, motorist Trini Infante-Sanchez, 28, of Waterbury was driving a 2007 Honda Civic sedan eastward on Wasserman Way and then stopped at its intersection with the Exit 11 ramps for Interstate 84, police said.
Eastbound motorist Christopher McNeil, 29, of Windsor Locks, who was driving a 1999 Ford F-250 pickup truck, then struck the Honda from behind, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they gave McNeil a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart. Police said they issued Infante-Sanchez a written warning for failure to carry an automotive insurance identification card.
Mailbox Prank
In what police described as a prank, someone placed a plastic soda bottle containing a household chemical mixture in a curbside residential mailbox on New Lebbon Road.
The soda bottle exploded at about 11:30 pm on July 27, but did not damage the mailbox, police said. Police ask anyone with information on the incident to contact Officer John McCluskey at the police station at 203-426-5841.
Motorist Sought
About 4:30 pm on July 27, a Honda Accord was waiting in a line of traffic on Church Hill Road at its intersection with Main Street, police said.
A light-blue metallic colored SUV, which was waiting in front of the Honda, then rolled backward, striking the Honda and damaging it, police said. The SUV driver left the scene.
The SUV has a Connecticut marker plate with the letters âCHBâ as part of its numbering, police said.
