Grateful For Don Bates’ Service

To the Editor:

While we are deeply saddened by the closing of the pharmacy at the Drug Center, we certainly understand Don Bates’ desire for a well deserved “semiretirement.”  We cannot thank him enough for everything he has done for us and our community. He has been fondly referred to as “Dr  Don” by so many of us who have gone to him for advice and guidance. His knowledge, his generosity, and his compassion will be sorely missed at the Drug Center. Walgreens certainly has big shoes to fill.

Thank you so much, Don, for always being there to answer our questions and help us when we needed you. We owe you a tremendous debt of gratitude. We hope to see you at “Everything Newtown,” but don’t let Diane work you too hard. Take it easy. You deserve it.
