Walter Frank Malmborg

Walter Malmborg, 81, a resident for the last year at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury, died August 1 at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Deland, Fla., on May 19, 1924.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn of Newtown; his son Walter F. Malmborg, Jr, of Huntsville, Ala.; and daughter Monette Fitzsimmons of Gainesville, Fla.

A longtime employee at IBM, he was educated at Stetson University (BA) and University of Florida (MA). During WWII he served in the US Navy as a radioman on the USS Canberra.

Burial will be private at Oak Hill Cemetery, Stony Brook, N.Y.
