Thanks To Block Party Boosters

To the Editor:

I would like to thank the merchants who helped make the first annual Block Party at Sandy Hook Fire & Rescue a success. The donations received from LaFortuna Restaurant, Coach’s Deli, Hot Shot’s Bar & Grille, Fred LeMay from Trash Ranger, Mocha Coffee House, Crystal Rock, and United Rental helped make our block party a success.

Our block party was held this past Saturday, July 30, and over 100 people attended. The band Keltic Kick was awesome and kept the crowd dancing. A big thank-you also goes to my committee of John Jeltema, Betty Stohl, Steve Stohl, Shari Burton, and Laurie Mathison who helped put this together. I am also grateful to the other members of my company to helped all weekend! Also, thank you to the members of Newtown Hook & Ladder who let us borrow their popcorn machine and for teaching us how to use it late into the night on Friday.

I hope everyone who attended enjoyed themselves and we look forward to seeing everyone next year!
