Sherman Players Casting For Fall
SHERMAN â The Sherman Players will hold auditions for Attracting Hummingbirds on Monday and Tuesday, August 8 and 9, from 7 to 9 pm.
The play was written by Danbury native Benjamin DaSilva, a retired schoolteacher and chairman of Danbury Cultural Commission.
It tells the story of antagonistic neighbors forced to share a small cottage during a terrible snowfall that leaves them snowbound and reliant upon one another.
The cast calls for five actors: a college professor age 40-50; a hard-nosed businessman, age 60; his trophy wife, age 40s; their son age 20s; and a college girl in her 20s.
Production dates for this show will be weekends, September 16 to October 1. The rehearsal period will be Monday through Thursday evenings beginning August 22.
Francis A. Daley is the director. Mr Daley directed last seasonâs hit, Woody Guthrieâs American Song, at Sherman Playhouse.
