It has been five months now since the beautiful, long-legged Isabelle with the soulful eyes and gentle manner found her forever home with Joy and Mike Filler and their daughters Tori, 19, and Carly, 15.

Isabelle is certainly a part of this family now, but there have been rough times ⦠particularly in the beginning. Although Isabelle accepted the female members of the family right away, she did not want anything to do with Mike.
Of course, no one knows what life held for Isabelle before she came to the Newtown Pound, but one thing is known for certain: she does not like big guys with baseball caps! Even without a baseball cap, Mike was shunned by Isabelle, who constantly watched him, barked at him, and refused to even lie down in his presence.
All of this even though Mike was the one who fed her every meal!
Time and perseverance have triumphed and Mike it seems has won her approval, if not her whole heart. Hopefully, that will come. In the meantime Isabelle is tightly bonded to Joy who finds her as a constant companion as they move together through the house, unless of course Isabelle is sleeping in one of her favorite spots which she has claimed as her own.
It appears that Isabelleâs transition to her new home has agreed with her as evidenced by the 20 pound weight gain, which was very much needed. She has filled out that stately frame and looks like the healthy English Pointer that she is. Joy reports that Isabelle is not a hunter by nature, preferring to spend her time inside. She is a âgood girlâ, does not chew things, and knows most obedience commands. She is normally calm and low-key except when Joy returns home ⦠which Isabelle views as cause for celebration.Â
Isabelle has a regal presence that suggests that she is aptly named. The Fillers would like a second dog maybe in another year.
They will be looking for a male dog, to be named . . . Ferdinand.
