Sandy Hook DUI

Police said they received a report about 1:40 am July 28 that there was an unresponsive driver in a vehicle which was parked near the intersection of Walnut Tree Hill Road and Old Green Road, so they went to the scene to investigate.

Police said they found motorist Brian Husvar, 25, of 23 Pootatuck Trail in the vehicle. Ambulance volunteers went to the scene to check on Husvar, but he refused medical treatment, police said.

After investigating, police charged Husvar with driving under the influence, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

After processing, police released Husvar on $50 bail for an August 10 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Route 302 DUI

Police said that they stopped motorist James Rouse, 19, of Danbury at about 1:48 am July 29 for erratic driving on Route 302.

After investigating, police charged Rouse with driving under the influence, possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle by a minor, and also with a travel lane violation.

 Following arrest processing, police released Rouse on $50 bail for an August 10 court appearance.

Motorcycle Accident

Police report an accident involving a motorcycle and an auto about 6 pm July 27 on Church Hill Road at its intersection with The Boulevard.

Motorcyclist David Csanadi, 30, of Aunt Park Lane was driving a 1989 Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 eastward on Church Hill Road, as motorist Hadrian Kim, 19, of 20 Echo Valley Road was driving a 1995 Volkswagen westward there, police said.

An eastbound non-contact vehicle stopped and was waiting to make a left turn onto The Boulevard, after which the eastbound motorcycle started passing that vehicle on the right, police said.

As the motorcycle passed the non-contact vehicle, it collided with the westbound Volkswagen, which was then turning left into a driveway at 32 Church Hill Road, police said.

Ambulance volunteers transported Csanadi to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. Police charged Csanadi with illegal passing on the right, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle without automotive insurance, and driving a motorcycle without a motorcycle license.

Honda Vs Saturn

Two sedans collided at the intersection of South Main Street and Washbrook Road about 9:42 am July 24, police said.

Police said the crash involved motorist Kelly Nardine, 26, of Bethel, who was driving a 2005 Honda Civic sedan, and motorist Michael Ouimette, 37, of 26 Turkey Hill Road, who was driving as 1998 Saturn SL-1 sedan. There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Nardine for making a restricted turn.

DUI Charge

Police said that they received a report about 1:35 pm July 27 that a motorist who had been driving erratically had stopped their vehicle on Ashford Lane, so police went to that area to investigate.

Police said they located the vehicle on Ashford Lane and gave motorist Jennifer Timm, 27, of Bethel field sobriety tests. Police charged Timm with driving under the influence. After processing the case, police released Timm on $50 bail for an August 15 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

DUI Incident

State police report they charged Elizabeth Fellenstein, 45, of Brookfield with driving under the influence and with failure to drive in the established lane about 10:45 pm July 29.

State police said the arrest stems from an incident that occurred on westbound Interstate 84 between Exit 14 and Exit 10 involving a motor vehicle accident. State police released Fellenstein on $750 bail for an August 7 court appearance.

DUI Arrest

State police report that motorist Kathy Klesitz, 49, of 14 Turkey Roost Road, who was driving a 1993 Subaru Impreza, was exiting Interstate 84 at Exit 11 at about 1:56 am July 30, when the vehicle moved to the right and struck some guardrailing. Klesitz was not injured.

After investigating, state police charged Klesitz with driving under the influence and with making an improper turn. Klesitz was scheduled to appear in court to answer the charges.

Risk of Injury

On July 31, at about 3 pm, police charged a 17-year-old boy with risk of injury to a minor for allegedly attempting to take his 14-year-old girlfriend out of state. The pair were attempting to leave the state on a bus, police said. There were no injuries in the incident, police said. 

Recent state law requires police to conceal the identities of people ages 16 or 17 who are charged with crimes. Such people are categorized as youthful offenders.

The boy was held on $5,000 bail for arraignment on August 1 in Danbury Youthful Offender Court.

Sawhorses Swiped

Sometime between 10 pm July 30 and 5:30 am July 31, someone stole two black plastic sawhorses from the driveway at 134 Mt Pleasant Road. Police are investigating the theft and ask anyone with information on the case to contact them at 270-8888.

Bicycle Found

Police report that a women’s 21-speed bicycle was found near the intersection of Sugar Street (Route 302) and Boggs Hill Road. The Trek-brand bicycle is black and blue. Police are holding it at the police station at 3 Main Street for safekeeping. To claim the bicycle, the owner should contact Sergeant Darlene Froehlich at 426-5841.

Burglary

Police report that an unspecified motor vehicle was burglarized near 45-A Mt Pleasant Road sometime between 8:30 pm on July 28 and 7:45 am on July 31. Police ask anyone with information on the crime to contact Patrol Officer Matt Chesser at 426-5841, or to leave him an anonymous tip at 270-8888.

Queen Street Crash

About 4 pm July 31, motorist Charles Daroja, 56, of Masonville, N.Y., who was driving a 1985 Chevrolet sedan southward on Queen Street, slowed to make a right turn into a driveway at 62 Queen Street, police report.

Southbound motorist Alexa Feldman, 17, of Brandywine Lane, who was driving a 2000 Volvo sedan, then drove into the rear end of the Chevrolet, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Feldman a written warning for following too closely.

 

Three Charges

Police report they stopped motorist Clay Blevons, 45, of Plainville for speeding on southbound Swamp Road at about 5:40 am August 3.

On investigating, police charged Blevons with speeding, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving while under suspension. After arrest processing, police released Blevons on a written promise to appear August 15 in Danbury Superior Court.

Purse Found

About 1:30 pm July 30, a black purse containing rosary beads was found in the parking lot at Sand Hill Plaza at 228 South Main Street, police said. The owner may claim the purse by contacting Sergeant Darlene Froehlich at the police station, 3 Main Street, telephone 426-5841.
