IAIS Green Corn Festival
WASHINGTON â Native American Peoples have always celebrated and given thanks for the gifts of the earth. One of the most important celebrations continues to be held when the first corn is ready to be eaten, and The Institute for American Indian Studies (IAIS) will celebrate this special time of year with its Green Corn Festival on Saturday, August 5, from 11 am until 3 pm. Visitors will experience traditional Native American cooking, food, games, dancing, crafts and more. The museum is at 38 Curtis Road; call 860-868-0518.
