Basic Digital Camera Workshop
Basic Digital Camera Workshop
The Newtown Flagpole Photographers Camera Club in conjunction with the C.H. Booth Library is offering a free workshop on how to take better pictures with your digital camera. Any young adult entering sixth grade and up is welcome, and may invite a parent or other adult to come along.
Participants should bring their own digital camera and the manual. The course covers a basic overview of the common functions in digital cameras, how to operate and maintain your photo system, and key tips on taking and composing great digital images. As part of the course, there will be an opportunity to do some hands-on exercises using the digital camera.
Both John Tucci, president of the Flagpole Photography Club, and Jim Talarino, club chair person, will lead the session. Both are award-winning photographers.
The workshop will be held on Thursday, August 17, from 7 to 8:30 pm, in the first floor meeting room of the library. Sign up at the Main Floor Circulation Desk or call 426-4533 to register. There is no charge for the workshop.
Flagpole Photographers Camera Club is a family-oriented club that hosts speakers and contests at the library on the third Thursday of the month, September through June. Membership is open to all at $20 per person per year, and people 18 or younger are free.
