Debra Jean Nahmias, 44, of Sandy Hook, died July 25 at Waterbury Hospital, after a long battle with cancer. She was born October 31, 1967, in Salem, Mass.
She married Jack Nahmias in 1995 and they were blessed with two children, Megan and Jonathan. She is survived by her husband and children; her parents Judith and Russell Rose of Beverly, Mass; her sister Susan Rose of Atlanta, Ga., and her brother Michael Rose, and his wife Robin, of Andover, Mass.; sister-in-law Kate Nolan, and husband Dan, of Pawling, N.Y.; mother-in-law Vivian Nahmias of Somers, N.Y.; a niece and nephew; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Many people loved Ms Nahmias, and her family and friends cherished her warmth, her laughter, her kindness, and her grace. She was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, and she took particular delight in being with her children. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and worked for 23 years at IBM as a programmer/analyst.
Ms Nahmias was an active member of Congregation Adath Israel in Newtown.
Funeral services took place July 27. Burial was in Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, N.J.
