Bluegrass, Ice Cream, Pickles & Preserves

WASHINGTON — The Third Annual Food Festival, on Saturday, August 4, at St John’s Church in Washington, will be the place to stock up on fresh fruit and produce, honey and preserves, all while enjoying bluegrass music by Big Apple’Achia. There will also be crafts for children, popcorn, hot dogs on the grill, an old-fashioned lemonade stand, Arethusa Farm ice cream, iced coffees and teas, and room to picnic under the trees.

Vendors include Waldingfield Farm, County Wine, Greyledge, New Preston Kitchen Shop, The Pantry, Sweets, Percy Thomson Meadow Farm, Tara Farm, Demeter Garden, NYCH2C, Everything Botanical, and Starberry Farm, selling peaches, corn, greens, organic meats, pickles preserves, honey and much more.

The festival will run from 10 am to 4 pm, with live music from noon until 3. Admission is free, and a portion of the proceeds from sales will benefit the church’sJohn’s many outreach projects including food pantries, Easter and Thanksgiving food baskets, back-to-school backpacks, and a holiday Angel Tree.

Return in the evening for the Surf & Turf Clambake Dinner at 6:30. The meal will be catered by Tilden’s Seafood with wines provided by County Wine and Spirits. Tickets for dinner are $75.

St John’s Episcopal Church is at 78 Green Hill Road (Route 47), across from the Washington Green.
