Republicans And Democrats In Harmony
Republicans And Democrats
In Harmony
To the Editor:
In a town where politics has been in the limelight and will remain so, undoubtedly until after Novemberâs election, we as a family, registered as both Republicans and Democrats, are glad that the entire slate of candidates for the Board of Finance are all seeking reelection this year â John Kortze, Jim Gaston, Joe Kearney, Mike Portnoy, Harry Waterbury, and Marty Gersten. They all work together professionally and courteously to save all the taxpayers money and do their due diligence at each meeting.
They do so as taxpayers, not as members of any particular party â they are here to serve Newtown with sincerity, transparency, honesty, and integrity. Yes, they are selected by their respective parties to represent their slate, but they join as one to unite Newtown in their quest to be fiscally responsible in these difficult economic times. Both the DTC and the RTC have voted to cross-endorse these candidates. I hope everyone else chooses to follow in the same spirit of bipartisanship.
Sincerely,
The Wiedemann Family
