Broadway Is In Newtown
This Week
To the Editor:
If you are looking for a wonderful Broadway experience this weekend without having to leave Newtown, you are in luck!
The Producers is a musical comedy written by Mel Brooks and had a very successful six-year run on Broadway. The Edmond Town Hall production (Wednesday, July 29, through Sunday, August 2) will showcase the amazing homegrown talent that we are fortunate to have here in Newtown and will include many of the incredible performers that made the 2004 Newtown HS production of Les Miserables the blockbuster that it was.
I was given the opportunity to listen in on some of the final dress rehearsal on Tuesday evening and I have to say that this will be on par with if not better than Les Miserables. The music is wonderful, the orchestra superb, and the laughter nonstop.
So, if you are looking for a wonderful Broadway experience this weekend without the hassle of NYC, go see the show.
To The Producersâ¦â¦break a leg!
