Applaud, Don’t Criticize, Those Who Take Care Of Newtown’s Finances

To the Editor:

 Someone needs to stop the foolishness and speak up for the taxpayer and that’s what the Board of Finance does. I must admit that I follow the goings on in town from afar, but I have always viewed the Board of Finance as an apolitical board that looks at issues objectively. I think it is important to have more than one set of eyes on things and I’ve always felt the Board of Finance looks at things from solely the financial angle, which is very beneficial. The process seems to allow for other perspectives along the way and I commend the Board of Finance for their in-depth look at Newtown’s finances. They seem to always be focusing on looking at every possible way to save money or spend it efficiently. As a taxpayer, I understand there is more than one way to look at an issue, but I applaud the Board of Finance for their efforts.
