The Bee Publishing Company this week raises the newsstand price of The Newtown Bee to 65 cents after a decade of selling the paper for 50 cents.
Publisher R. Scudder Smith explained that for ten years The Bee has absorbed routine increases in printing and production cost to keep the newsstand price of the paper at 50 cents, but over time these costs in aggregate made the current increase unavoidable.
The cost of a subscription to The Newtown Bee is $29 for one year and $50 for two years.
