Moth Walk At Devil's Den
Moth Walk At Devilâs Den
WESTON â Who are the âchildren of the nightâ? Some are moths. Less familiar and flashy than butterflies, these insects can sometimes be both large and very beautiful.
On the night of Friday, August 10, from 8 to 10 pm, join raptor expert Larry Fischer of Newtown when he leads a group that will turn its attention to moths at Devilâs Den Preserve, a 1,756-acre nature preserve located on the Weston/Redding border. On a short hike, Mr Fischer will show how to easily attract and study these fascinating creatures of the night.
Participants must bring a flashlight and be a minimum of eight years of age.
There is no charge for this program, but numbers are limited and night programs at The Den are generally very popular and oversubscribed. Interested participants should call The Den office weekdays between 9 am and 5 pm for reservations, information, or directions to the preserve.
