Cool Woods And Waters Hike
Cool Woods And Waters Hike
To cool off, Devilâs Den is providing a guided five-mile hike on Sunday, August 12, from 9 am to noon, that will showcase some special water features at the private nature preserve, which is owned and maintained by The Nature Conservancy.
Always interesting, water is particularly intriguing and refreshing in hot weather. The hike will dramatize the importance of the natural resource to plant and animal life .
Den guides Len Horowitz and Betsy Neuburg will lead visitors on trails beside the West Branch of the Saugatuck River and Sap Brook over to Godfrey Pond. During the hike, they will talk about the natural and human history of the 1,756-acre nature preserve that straddles the Weston/Redding border.
Reservations for this free program are required and limited. Interested participants should call The Den at 203-226-4991 weekdays between 9 am and 5 pm.
