Police said motorist Clifford W. Kruger, 38, of 32 Jo-Mar Drive, who was driving a 1999 Volkswagen Passat, was stopped in line at a red light behind a 1999 Ford Taurus driven by Robert L. Pelikan, 60, of 5 Mohawk Trail, about 5:20 pm July 27. The motorists were on eastbound Church Hill Road at its intersection with the Interstate-84 eastbound Exit 10 on-ramp.

Kruger then inadvertently drove the Volkswagen into the rear end of the Ford, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Kruger a written warning for following too closely.

Interstate Rollover

State police said motorist Steven L. Oliver, 28, of Nashua, N.H., who was driving a 1988 Toyota coupe westbound on Interstate-84 near Exit 9 about 2 am July 30, lost control of the automobile, skidded onto the highway median, and rolled over.

Danbury Ambulance transported Oliver to Danbury Hospital for treatment, state police said. State police said they charged Oliver with making an unsafe turn.

I-84 DWI

State police said they saw motorist Jody Glynn, 25, of Bridgeport weaving while driving on eastbound Interstate-84 near Exit 9 about 1 am July 29. State police said they stopped Glynn, investigated, and charged Glynn with driving while intoxicated.

State police released Glynn on a $500 non-surety bond for an August 14 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

 

Warrant Served

Police said they served a warrant against Nicholas Valluzzo, 33, of Danbury about 10:30 pm July 31 in Danbury, lodging charges of second-degree failure to appear in court, driving while intoxicated, and first-degree criminal trespassing. Police said the drunken driving and trespassing charges stem from a November 1999 incident. Police said they held Valluzzo on a $2,500 bond for an appearance the next day in Danbury Superior Court.

DWI Charge

Police said they observed motorist Robert F. Corcoran, 34, of Closter, N.J., on Queen Street about 11 pm August 1 and stopped him in a nearby parking lot where they gave him field sobriety tests which he failed. Police charged Corcoran with driving while intoxicated. Police also charged him with third-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct in connection with another incident.

Police said they held Corcoran on a $2,500 bond for an appearance the next day in Danbury Superior Court.

Sandy Hook Crash

Police report motorist Lisa Koeper, 33, of 86 Berkshire Road, who was driving a 1994 Saab 900-S about 8:15 am August 1, turned left from eastbound Route 34 onto Mile Hill Road and lost her brakes, resulting in Koeper driving onto some turf to avoid hitting other vehicles. The Saab struck a sign, police said. Koeper was not injured, police said.

Church Hill Accident

Police said motorist Albert J. Gartland, Jr, 75, of Punta Gorda, Florida, who was driving a 1993 Toyota station wagon eastbound on Church Hill Road about 1:40 pm August 1, made a left turn and crossed into the westbound lane, colliding with a westbound 1994 Honda Accord station wagon driven by Christina A. Arroyo, 17, of 203 Hanover Road. There were no injuries. Police issued Gartland a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.
