To Be Bused By The District
Montessori students will have a new way to school this fall.
The Newtown public school system plans to begin busing Montessori students to their new facility at the old Gordon-Fraser building on South Main Street, according to Transportation Director Mary Kelly.
Up until now, for the past eight years, the town has given de-facto transportation to Montessori students by reimbursing the society for the cost of their lone bus driver, who was originally recommended by the town.
Starting September 6, the first day of school for Montessori students, two Newtown school buses will serve the school: one for Sandy Hook Montessori students, and one for Newtown Montessori students.
âIf we need to make adjustments after September 6, we will,â Mrs Kelly said.
