Elizabeth âBettyâ Babyak, 85, of Newtown, died July 22. She was born in Stamford, February 25, 1925, daughter of Mary Robertson Smith Bennet and William G. Bennet. Mrs Babyak was preceded in death by her loving husband Emil Babyak in 1975.
Mrs Babyak is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Kirk and Michelle of Newtown, Gary and Sheila of Cos Cob, and Donald and Angela of Stamford; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three siblings; and other extended family and loyal friends.
Mrs Babyak was a long past Grand Matron of the Rosemary Chapter #85 of the Eastern Star and the Supreme Council of the Amaranth. She was past Eastern Star Grand Ruth 1997â1998. For the past 4½ years Mrs Babyak lived in Newtown in Masonic Care at Lockwood Lodge. Prior to her move to Newtown, Mrs Babyak lived in Stamford where she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a 20-year employee of Porricelliâs Market in Greenwich.
Her family and friends will remember her funny stories, jovial attitude, and numerous songs.
 A service was held for family and friends on July 29.
Arrangements were in care of the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
