Aldrich And RGA Offering Professional Practice For Artists

RIDGEFIELD — The Aldrich and Ridgefield Guild of Artists are offering “Radius: Professional Practice Series for Artists,” which will provide new opportunities for area artists to participate in one-on-one portfolio reviews with curators, hear from a panel of distinguished art world professionals, and exhibit their work at Ridgefield Guild of Artists’ gallery this fall.

Submissions must be postmarked by August 27. Entries include a completed application form (call the museum, 203-438-4519, or visit www.AldrichArt.org/RadiusGuidelines for a printable form), a brief biography/résumé, a brief artist’s statement, and an SASE for return of materials.

Materials are to include up to eight images of work completed within the last two years, and a separate sheet listing each work along with all pertinent information (artist’s name, title of object or video, medium, date, etc). Artists also need to clearly mark each work with their name.

Selections will be made by September 7. Selected artists from the application process will sign up for a consultation slot with a curator. These sessions will take place at The Aldrich Museum on October 4-6.

All applicants will be invited to attend the Radius Professional Practice Panel of contemporary art professionals on Saturday, November 13.

A group exhibition composed of work by the selected artists will be on view at the

Ridgefield Guild of Artists in November with an opening following the panel discussion on November 13.
