To the Editor:

I have had the honor to know so many police officers, both in the Newtown Police Department and the Norwalk Police Department. They represent both genders and all ethnic origins. I have not met one officer that I wouldn’t totally trust with my own life or that of my family. Political action to redirect funding and reduce liability protection for police officers is counterproductive to law enforcement and problem solving. The unintended outcome of our shallow thinking and indifference to misguided politicians will significantly compromise everyone’s safety and security.
