To the Editor:

Thank you for your fantastic coverage of Kylie and Khloe Hudak and their lemonade stand. So far they have raised money for The Kennedy Center Special Needs and St Jude Children’s Hospital, for children with cancer.

This is a totally biased letter. I am their great-aunt.

I didn’t have a smiley morning yesterday, Friday 7/26, yet by the time I parked and walked over to the lemonade stand, I was caught up in the excitement of the children; eager to give me a cup of lemonade and equally eager to tell me how they were raising money for children with cancer at St Jude.

It was a wonderful day! A day of giving and receiving smiles and good words. One gentleman even shared with me about his family cabin, which was almost destroyed in last year’s tornado. I will not forget the pictures he shared with me.

I’m over-the-moon proud of my great nieces, Kylie and Khloe! I am also in awe of their parents and their neighbors, who put so much effort into teaching and helping their children to help others.

I was waving a sign, but no one stopped for me — they stopped for the children they saw; little people with very big hearts.

Thank you, Kylie, Khloe, and friends, for the lessons you teach.
