Naugatuck Man Charged In Sandy Hook Burglary

UPDATE (August 3, 2016): This story has been updated to reflect Mr Solsbury's court arraignment information.

Police said that on July 29, they arrested a man on criminal charges stemming from a July 22 burglary/larceny at a Sandy Hook residence.

Police said they found Lyle Solsbury, 40, of Naugatuck at a hotel in Waterbury at about 11:30 am on July 29, after which they arrested him on a warrant, lodging charges of third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny in connection with the incident on Sugarloaf Road, near Toddy Hill Road.

Police said Solsbury posted $50,000 bail and was then released for an August 11 court arraignment.

The case remains open and more criminal charges are expected to be filed against Solsbury, according to police.

During the day on July 21, there were four residential burglaries in Sandy Hook. They occurred on Riverside Road, Philo Curtis Road, Toddy Hill Road, and Bennetts Bridge Road. Early on the morning of July 22, a commercial burglary occurred at a Barnabas Road restaurant in Hawleyville.
