To the Editor:

Being a Sandy Hooker for 25-plus years, I have to admit I never gave the center of our town much more than a cursory glance. Now I look forward to all the improvements that have evolved, to transform our little village into an appealing New England town.

 The magnificent rock walls beautify and enhance the brick sidewalks, the quaint lamp posts encourage night walking and the landscaping only adds to make this a place people want to visit. This week planter boxes were added with pretty summer flowers and today a dedication plaque in a charming house-like setting was installed.

 I am proud to be a Sandy Hooker and give a huge Thank You to all who have contributed to the beautification of this section of Newtown.
