Volunteer Opportunities

The Volunteer Center of Western Connecticut has a number of volunteer opportunities available, including openings at the Special Olympics Softball Tournament, August 6, in Danbury; the 2011 SoNo Arts Festival, August 6-7 in South Norwalk; and the 2011 New Haven Open Tennis Tournament, August 19-25.

In addition, Habitat Restore is in need of volunteers to assist in its Danbury store to greet shoppers, sell merchandise, and help keep the store items in order. They can also use volunteers with trucks to be part of a pickup crew.

Proceeds help fund Habitat’s local homebuilding efforts.

Also, The Volunteer Center’s Wish List currently includes diapers; costume jewelry, for clients of a mental health program; umbrellas in good working order, for men and women who walk to a mental health day program; and soups, cereals, tuna fish and juices for the Danbury food pantry.
