LaPorta Wins MVP Honor

Robbie LaPorta, of the Newtown Thunder 11-year-old Route 84 Baseball League team was selected as the MVP for the All-Star Game that was played Saturday night in Danbury.

LaPorta pitched a scoreless inning and smashed a go-ahead RBI double in the seventh inning to vault his team to victory.

The All-Star squad, which included players from a variety of towns, including Wilton, Fairfield, Oxford, and Brookfield, had two other Newtown representatives: RH Clark and Nick Brown.
