Hospital Offers Basic Emergency Medical Technician Course
DANBURY â Matthew G. Cassavechia, director of Danbury Hospital Emergency Medical Services, announces that a Basic Emergency Medical Technician course will take place at Danbury Hospital starting Tuesday, September 6.
The three-month course meets every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7 to 11 pm and occasional Saturdays from 8 am to 4 pm. The course will meet in the back of the employee cafeteria located on the third floor, South Building.
Course participants, patients, and visitors must enter and exit Danbury Hospital through the Stroock Building Lobby located on the first floor at the Praxair Cancer Center. Parking is available in the Red Parking Garage using the Locust Avenue entrance.
Those completing the EMT-Basic course will be qualified to take the National Registry exams to receive their Connecticut and National EMT-B certification.
Emergency Training Resources far exceeds the requirements for state and national EMS programs by providing more hands-on experience and follow-up with real world practice in the Emergency Department and on the ambulance with its EMTs and paramedics.
As a member of the EMS team, individuals can make a difference. During EMT training, participants will gain the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are necessary to be a valuable part of the emergency health care system.
Fee for the three-month course is $750, and payment must be submitted in full before the first week of the program. Personal check, bank check, money order, or municipal purchase orders acceptable
