Trespassing Charges

Police report they received a call about 10 pm on July 21 reporting that there was suspicious activity at a house on Rose Lane that was supposed to be unoccupied, so they went there to investigate. Rose Lane is a side street off Fawnwood Road in Sandy Hook.

Police said their investigation turned up seven youths under age 17 who were on the residential property illegally.

Six of the youths, who were age 16, received infraction tickets for simple trespassing, police said. Such tickets carry $92 fines, which are appealable in court.

The seventh youth, who is under age 16, received a juvenile summons for simple trespassing and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Juvenile Court.

All the youths involved in the incident were released into the custody of their parents, police said.
