DUI Incident
Police report that while on patrol about 9:43 pm on July 26, they spotted motorist Bryan Barrington, 44, of West Haven driving a pickup truck fast northward near 16 Main Street, so they stopped him to investigate.
Police said they charged Barrington with driving under the influence and with traveling unreasonably fast.
After processing, police released Barrington on $100 bail for an August 9 court appearance.
Truck Hits Lines
Tractor-trailer truck driver Edward Boston, 48, of New Britain was driving a 2007 Volvo moving truck eastward near 20 Butterfield Road about 9:47 am on July 25, when the front end of the trailer hit some overhead utility lines, bringing the lines down, police said.
Boston was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Ford Vs Jeep
Police report that motorist Barbara Tarpey, 36, of 4 Bishop Circle was driving a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV eastward on Church Hill Road about 3:31 pm July 25, and then stopped for traffic conditions at the intersection of Church Hill Road and Queen Street.
Motorist Benjamin Keeney, 57, of 16 Pepperidge Road, who was driving a commercial 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck eastward on Church Hill Road, was unable to stop in time and the Ford slid into the rear end of the Jeep, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Keeney a written warning for following too closely.
