Four MV Charges
Police report that while on patrol about 9:48 am on July 21, they stopped motorist Micah Bonacassio, 23, of Thomaston, to investigate near 6 Queen Street.
Police said they charged Bonacassio with driving under suspension, driving an unregistered vehicle, failure to have functioning brake lamps, and failure to have functioning turn signals.
Police released Bonacassio on $200 bail for an August 3 appearance at Danbury Superior Court.
Warrant
Police report that on July 13, they charged Garrett Clark, 28, of 24 Mohawk Trail on a warrant with second-degree failure to appear in court in connection with motor vehicle charges that were lodged against Clark by police in an incident earlier this year.
On May 20, police stopped Clark near 70 Hanover Road and charged him with failure to display a marker plate, driving with a suspended vehicle registration, driving without automotive insurance, and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.
On July 13, police released Clark on $500 bail for a July 27 court appearance.
Larceny
Police report that on July 22, they arrested Sean Dimone, 35, of 35 Philo Curtis Road on a warrant, charging Dimone with sixth-degree larceny.
The larceny charge stems from an investigation that police conducted based on a complaint that they received on March 7 from a person at 6 Queen Street, which is the address of Newtown Shopping Village.
Police released Dimone on a written promise to appear on August 9 for an arraignment in Danbury Superior Court.
Evading Responsibility
Police report that at about 8:12 pm on July 22, they were called to an accident scene near 21 Jeremiah Road in Sandy Hook, on the section of that street lying between its intersections with Brandywine Lane and Fox Hollow Lane.
Police said that a motorist who was driving along Jeremiah Road went off the street and collided with some landscaping elements on private property and then left the scene of the accident.
The front bumper of the unspecified vehicle that the motorist was driving fell off the vehicle in the impact, police said. That bumper had a marker plate on it, which police traced to motorist David Johnston, 29, of 55 Copper Creek Circle.
Police said they then arrested Johnston on charges of evading responsibility and making a restricted turn. Johnston was released on $500 bail for an August 9 court appearance.
Botsford Crash
Police report a one-car accident near the Housatonic Railroad rail bridge that crosses above Botsford Hill Road at about 11:09 pm on July 18.
Motorist Robert Aronson, 48, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., was driving a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse southward on Botsford Hill Road, when while negotiating a curve in the road, he lost control of the auto and entered the opposite lane, went off the left side of the road and struck a concrete bridge structure, police said.
Ambulance staffers responded to the crash, but Aronson refused treatment, police said. Botsford firefighters also responded to the crash.
Police said they verbally warned Aronson for failure to drive to right on a curve.
South Main Street
Motorist Chandresh Ghandi, 54, of Watertown, was driving a 2006 Toyota Camry sedan northward near 91 South Main Street about 5:51 pm on July 21, when the vehicle went off the right road shoulder and struck some guardrailing, police report.
Ghandi was not injured. Police said Ghandi received an infraction for making a restricted turn.
Traffic Signal
Trucker George Navikauskas, 51, of Waterbury was driving a 1990 Peterbilt tractor-trailer truck eastward on Church Hill Road at its intersection with Commerce Road, about 1:12 pm July 14, when the front end of the trailer struck the traffic signal that is suspended over the intersection, police said.
Navikauskas did not realize that the trailer had made contact with the signal and kept traveling, police said.
There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.
Mile Hill Road
Police report a two-vehicle accident about 11:54 pm on July 23 on Mile Hill Road at its intersection with Queen Street.
Police said motorist Thomas Fisher, 24, of Brookfield was driving a 1996 Mazda MX-6 coupe eastward on Mile Hill Road, as motorist Elizabeth Laleman, 18, of Monroe was driving a 2002 Ford Taurus station wagon westward on Mile Hill Road.
The two vehicles then collided at the intersection. Newtown ambulance volunteers transported Fisher to Danbury Hospital on a report of pain, police said. The accident is under investigation, according to police.
Three Vehicles
Police report a three-vehicle chain-reaction crash near 153 South Main Street about 12:46 pm on July 13 in which all three vehicles were traveling in the same direction.
The driver of a Nissan Pathfinder SUV stopped in preparing to make a turn off the roadway, after which the driver of a Chevrolet Equinox SUV stopped behind the Nissan, police said.
The driver of an unknown vehicle then struck the rear end of the Chevrolet, pushing the Chevrolet into the rear end of the Nissan, police said.
After the collision, the driver of the unknown vehicle that caused the accident fled, police said.
Ambulance volunteers checked the driver of the Nissan, releasing that person at the scene, police said.
Police ask anyone with information on the identity of the driver who caused the accident to contact investigating Officer Matthew Hayes at 203-426-5841.
I-84 Crash
State police said motorist Brianne Petrucelli, 23, of Somers, N.Y., was driving a 2001 Honda Civic eastward on Interstate 84, about 200 feet east of Exit 9, about 3:50 pm July 20, when she failed to slow for traffic conditions.
Petrucelli then swerved to the right to avoid a collision with another vehicle, but lost control of the Honda and struck some curbing, causing the Honda to come to rest facing backwards on turf alongside the right road shoulder, state police said.
Petrucelli was not injured. Information on enforcement was not available.
Compact Discs
On July 23, a black compact disc case containing about 24 CDs was found lying alongside Mile Hill Road. Several of the CDs in the case have a name written on them. Police are holding the items for safekeeping. The owner may claim the items by contacting Officer Scott Smith at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841.
Digital Device
On the morning of July 23, a black and silver Apple-brand iPod digital media player was found lying alongside Horseshoe Ridge Road. The iPod carries a personâs name on its rear side. Fence Damaged
Someone sometime between 8 pm on Friday, July 22, and 9:15 am on Saturday, July 23, was driving a vehicle that struck and damaged some fencing at Newtown Skate Park at Dickinson Park off Brushy Hill Road, police said. The driver left the scene without reporting the collision.

Trespassing Charges
Police report they received a call about 10 pm on July 21 reporting that there was suspicious activity at a house on Rose Lane that was supposed to be unoccupied, so they went there to investigate. Rose Lane is a side street off Fawnwood Road in Sandy Hook.
Police said their investigation turned up seven youths under age 17 who were on the residential property illegally.
Six of the youths, who were age 16, received infraction tickets for simple trespassing, police said. Such tickets carry $92 fines, which are appealable in court.
The seventh youth, who is under age 16, received a juvenile summons for simple trespassing and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Juvenile Court.
All the youths involved in the incident were released into the custody of their parents, police said.
DUI Incident
Police report that while on patrol about 9:43 pm on July 26, they spotted motorist Bryan Barrington, 44, of West Haven driving a pickup truck fast northward near 16 Main Street, so they stopped him to investigate.
Police said they charged Barrington with driving under the influence and with traveling unreasonably fast.
After processing, police released Barrington on $100 bail for an August 9 court appearance.
Truck Hits Lines
Tractor-trailer truck driver Edward Boston, 48, of New Britain was driving a 2007 Volvo moving truck eastward near 20 Butterfield Road about 9:47 am on July 25, when the front end of the trailer hit some overhead utility lines, bringing the lines down, police said.
Boston was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Ford Vs Jeep
Police report that motorist Barbara Tarpey, 36, of 4 Bishop Circle was driving a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV eastward on Church Hill Road about 3:31 pm July 25, and then stopped for traffic conditions at the intersection of Church Hill Road and Queen Street.
Motorist Benjamin Keeney, 57, of 16 Pepperidge Road, who was driving a commercial 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck eastward on Church Hill Road, was unable to stop in time and the Ford slid into the rear end of the Jeep, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Keeney a written warning for following too closely.
Burglary Arrest
On July 27, police arrested Robert Kelley, 38, of New Milford on a warrant on charges of third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, and third-degree criminal mischief.
Police said the charges stem from a burglary that occurred about 12:57 am on January 31 at Hawleyville Deli, a convenience store at 26 Hawleyville Road (Route 25). Police had responded to a burglar alarm that was tripped by the intruder at the store.
The burglar had gained entry to the building by forcing open the front door of the business.
The sixth-degree larceny charge indicates that the value of items stolen was less than $500.
Police said an investigation led to them identify Kelley as a suspect, after which they applied for an arrest warrant from Danbury Superior Court, receiving it on July 20.
Kelley was released on $500 bail for an August 11 court appearance.
