A Loss Of Confidence
A Loss Of Confidence
To the Editor:
I suggest we replace the âCut, Cap and Balanceâ proposal with the âCut the Crap and Balance the Budget Nowâ proposal. I do not want to fund wars abroad when our incompetent, corrupt, and fiscally irresponsible government continues to waste billions of dollars. Cut the foreign aid. Afghanistan wants us in their backyard because they are receiving billions of dollars of aid. The United States is their âGolden Gooseâ and peace will never come about in Afghanistan. Washington continues to throw billions to Afghanistan when that money could be better spent right here in America. We are fighting multiple wars abroad and one at home. Washington is the reason we are losing the most important battle of all; the war at home. America is losing the war against ignorance.
I do not want to support illegal immigration. Washington needs to stop illegal entry across our borders. Look at California for a moment. The governor of California signed into law a bill allowing illegal immigrants to receive privately funded scholarships to attend Californiaâs public colleges and universities. Governor Brown stated, âAt the end of the day, if weâre going to continue as a powerful, equal-opportunity society, weâre going to have to invest in our people.â Can you explain to me how illegal immigrants are âourâ people? They are here illegally! This is beyond bizarre; it is mindless.
I have lost all confidence in our two-party government. They no longer work for âwe the peopleâ but for themselves. We need term limits to rid this country of the special interest groups and lobbyists that fill the pockets of both parties with payoffs. America is in decline and will continue to do so because âwe the peopleâ who work for a living are outnumbered by people who vote for a living.
