Tenor And Bass Openings In Master Chorale

The Connecticut Master Chorale, under the direction of Tina Johns Heidrich, has openings for one new tenor and one new bass for the upcoming 2006-07 concert season. Performances are scheduled for November, March and May, accompanied by the Connecticut Master Chorale Orchestra.

The Chorale will present its annual Holiday Prelude Concert on November 19, featuring music with steel drums, brass ensemble, spirituals, gospel, multi-cultural numbers and other festive selections.

On March 11, 2007, the Chorale will perform Karl Jenkins’ “Adiemus” and his recently released Requiem. Mr Jenkins has gained much recognition for his music used in TV and advertisements – most notably the “Diamond Music,” and the choral music on the Delta Airlines commercials (Adiemus). His Requiem was published in 2005.

Also on the program will be the exuberant “Bless Ye the Lord” by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

“A Caribbean Mass” by Glenn McClure will be the featured work on the chorale’s May 19, 2007, performance, accompanied by a steel band.

Rehearsals for the 2006-07 season begin in September and are held on Tuesday evenings in Southbury.

The Connecticut Master Chorale, founded by Ms Heidrich in 1999, is an ensemble of 55 high caliber voices; members live throughout the western Connecticut area. In addition to its regular three-concert season, the chorale has given special performances at The White House, three times at Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden and West Point Military Academy, all by invitation.
