Samba Brasil Sunday Concert
BROOKFIELD â Samba Brasil, six-time winner of The Hartford Advocateâs Best Latin Band category, will bring its sparkling mixture of Brazilian music and jazz to The Brookfield Library on Sunday, July 30, at 4 pm, as part of the libraryâs Afternoons at the Arbor outdoor concert series.
Since 1994, Samba Brasil has delighted audiences throughout New England with its fresh variations of the samba â the national dance and passion of Brazil.
Sundayâs program will include songs by Tom Jobim, Ivan Lins, Djavan and others, in styles such as samba, bossa nova, baiao and batucada. The group features Jeff Fuller on bass and vocals, Joe Carter on guitar, Tim Moran on sax, flute and percussion, and Chris Michael on drums, all of whom have performed with major Latin jazz artists.
Admission is free; bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. In the event of rain, the concert will be held indoors. A reception will follow the program.
