Beloved Mother And Grandmother
Olga âElsieâ Cybul, 81, of Trumbull, died July 24 at Cambridge Manor, Fairfield. She was the widow of John Cybul, Jr. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Klemente and Mary Chepko.
She is survived by four loving and devoted children, Deborah McGrath and her husband, Richard, of Sandy Hook, John Cybul III of Trumbull, Karen Ivers of Stratford, and Gregory Cybul of Trumbull; three beloved grandchildren, Thomas Ivers, Katherine Ivers, and Timothy McGrath; two sisters-in-law, Lydia Bilanin and her husband, Joseph, and Sophie Fabula, all of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews. One brother, Clem Chepko, and one sister, Anne Kasica, predeceased her.
Mrs Cybul was raised in New Jersey. Upon her marriage, she moved to Bridgeport where she and her husband raised their family. They moved to Trumbull in 1974. She enjoyed embroidery and crocheting.
Mrs Cybulâs family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses, technicians, doctors, and staff of the DaVita Dialysis Center in Shelton. They also wish to thank the first floor nursing staff at Cambridge Manor who lovingly cared for their mother during her final days. Her daughter, Karen, is especially proud of her former nursing students who provided comfort and compassion during a very difficult time.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, July 28, at 9:15 am, in the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford, and at 10 am, in St John the Baptist Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, 1240 Broadbridge Avenue, Stratford. Interment will be in St John Cemetery, Monroe. Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, July 27, from 4 to 8 pm. Panachida service was held at 7 pm.
