Aimee Mignon Houghton, 100, of Wilmington, N.C., and a longtime resident of Newtown, died peacefully July 27. She was born December 10, 1914, in Brooklyn, to Amanda and William Lissy.

Mrs Houghton enjoyed a long marriage with her husband, George. They shared love, laughter, and a joy of dancing together. She was truly devoted to her family. She was an excellent cook. Her hobbies were knitting and crocheting and earned statewide recognitions for her skills.

Mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother — she is truly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Her three children, William R. Houghton of Martinez, Ga., Elizabeth Kiraly of Simpsonville, S.C., and James C. Houghton of Wilmington, N.C.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren survive Mrs Houghton. Her loving husband, George W. Houghton, preceded her in death.

A private memorial service for the family will take place July 30, at Andrews Valley Chapel.
