TheatreWorks Issues Casting Call For November’

NEW MILFORD— TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking a cast of four men, ages 35-70, and one woman, age 35-60, for its upcoming production of November, the 2008 Tony Award-winning comedy by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet.

November is a scathingly hilarious take on the state of America today and the lengths to which people will go to win. Set just days before a Presidential election, incumbent Charles Smith’s chances for re-election are looking grim. Approval ratings are down, his money is running out, and nuclear war might be imminent.

But Smith isn’t going down without a fight. As per White House tradition, the President pardons a couple turkeys before Thanksgiving, and it is this simple PR event that inspires Smith to risk it all in a hilarious attempt to make an 11th hour comeback.

Auditions will be held at TheatreWorks, 5 Brookside Avenue in New Milford, on Monday and Tuesday, July 30-31, from 7 to 9 pm.

The production is under the direction of Richard Pettibone.

Auditions will consist of reading from the script. All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome. No appointments are necessary. TheatreWorks offers a stipend to all performers, technicians, and directors.

Rehearsals begin August 6 with performances running Fridays and Saturdays, September 14 through October 6, and one Sunday matinee on September 30.

TheatreWorks is an award-winning, non-Equity theatre company.
