Newtowner Honored At

Water Works Conference

BRIDGEPORT — Aquarion Water Company’s Len DeJong was recently honored at the Connecticut Chapter of the American Water Works Association (CTAWWA) and Connecticut Water Works Association (CWWA) Annual Conference.

Mr DeJong was recognized at the conference for his service and commitment to the CWWA.

“We are proud of Len for his continued service to Aquarion and dedicated support to the water industry as a whole,” Aquarion President and CEO Charles V. Firlotte said.

Mr DeJong, manager of watershed and environmental management at Aquarion, served on the CTAWWA Board of Directors as its international director and chairman and facilitated the start-up of the organization’s Water For People Committee, serving as its first chair. He was also recently appointed to the CWWA board as a director.

Through its 23 committees, CTAWWA serves as a resource and training source in matters pertaining to technical and water utility operating needs. Its state counterpart, CWWA, provides a critical link to Connecticut government on water industry legislative and regulatory affairs.
