Louise D. Morgan, 91, of Newtown, died July 20, at Danbury Hospital. She was born in Bridgeport, June 20, 1921, a daughter of Margaret (Tornay) and Forrest Violette. She was the wife of the late Ernest F. Morgan, Sr.
Mrs Morgan was resident of Newtown since 1933 and was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1938. She was employed as a secretary for many years and during her career worked for the Town of Newtown, Ruwet-Sibley, and Dual-Lite, before retiring from Danbury Explosives.
She was a member of Newtown Congregational Church and Womanâs Circle 3, as well as of VFW Post 308 Auxiliary of Newtown and AARP of Bethel. Mrs Morgan was a volunteer at Danbury Hospital Gift Shop and the Connecticut Welcome Center at Exit 2 of I-84.
A son, Ernest F. Morgan, Jr, and his wife Pam, and a daughter, Margaret âPegâ Wood, and her husband Leonard, all of Newtown; two stepsons, John E. Morgan, and his wife Nancy, of Vero Beach, Fla., and Robert E. Morgan, and his wife Mary, of Miraloma, Calif.; and a stepdaughter, Pat Nadeau of Torrington, survive Mrs Morgan. âGaubbyâ will be sadly missed by her several grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were scheduled for Friday, July 27, at 10 am, in Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery. Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, July 26, from 7 to 9 pm, in the funeral home.
