Garner Inmate Charged With Weapon Possession

State police said that at about 6:47 pm on July 20, they responded to call from Garner Correctional Institution at 50 Nunnawauk Road concerning a complaint from prison officials.

After investigating, state police charged inmate Dandre B. Fulton, 24, with possession of a weapon in a correctional institution. Fulton had been in possession of a homemade knife known as a “shank,” according to state police.

Fulton pleaded not guilty to the felony at his arraignment on July 23 in Danbury Superior Court. He is scheduled to return to court on August 7.

Fulton is serving a six-year sentence in Garner on a conviction for first-degree robbery.
