Slow Paving, Slow Traffic On I-84

To the Editor:

Is there anyone else out there that wonders why the paving job on Rt 84 is taking months to complete? The joke is the signs they put up alerting travelers to the ramp closings which have never happened at Exit 10 Westbound and didn’t happen Eastbound on the night the sign stated. Also the signs alerting passengers to the uneven pavement, so everyone slows down, even though that was completed two months ago and the road is smooth. This just adds to the already congested, slow Rt 84 Eastbound traffic every single night. Please remove the signs.

I called the Connecticut DOT but no one knew where the crew went. I thought maybe the state sent them all on vacation for the summer.

Every now and then, we notice a tiny new improvement of paving or a new line, but at the rate they are going, when they finish it will be time to repave again.
