'Standing Room Only' For Triad
âStanding Room Onlyâ For Triad
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Senior Center Director Marilyn Place, the SALT committee members, and myself, we would like to thank all those who made the Triad celebration on July 14 the âstanding room onlyâ success it was.
We would especially like to thank First Selectman Herbert Rosenthal, Chief of Police Michael Kehoe, and our Triad business partner Peoplesâ Bank for their support. We would not have been able to get the Triad program off the ground here in Newtown without them.
We would also like to thank the Commission on Aging who donated to the first 100 seniors in attendance to the ceremony that day a free emergency beacon light.
We thank our St Rose Parish friends for joining us in our celebration. Special thanks to Reverend Bob Weiss, choir member Frank Von Oy, and Boy Scout Troop #770⦠who did an outstanding job in presenting the colors and opening our ceremony.
To Nancy Johnson: We welcomed her support and paid tribute to her dedication to the senior population in Connecticut. And, to Angela DeLeon, the state Triad coordinator: We cannot thank her enough for educating our community to all the possibilities and solutions concerning senior issuesâ¦when we all work together.
And finally, we would like to thank all our local businesses and friends who helped make the day the overwhelming success that it was. We look forward to great things to come from the Triad in the future as we all will join and work together for the betterment of the seniors and the community of Newtown. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Officer Maryhelen McCarthy
